About SoCal Low Vision

OUR MISSION

low vision eyechart glasses

For the past five years, Southern California Low Vision has been the number one source for low vision technology in San Diego county. Working closely with the community, we believe that assistive technology can provide relief for anyone who has difficulty reading or seeing print clearly. Let us show you how the newest and most reliable technology can help you meet your goals. Everyday we meet with clients that are having difficulty reading due to Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, RP, or other visual impairments. Let’s sit down together, for a no obligation demonstration, to see what can be done for your particular situation.

OUR FOUNDER

Our company was founded on the ideals of helping those that need assistance due to visual impairment, and we are committed to maintaining these ideals as our company grows, and as the needs of the community may grow as well. No matter the challenges faced by the visually impaired, SoCal Low Vision will be there to rise to those challenges and to ensure the independence and strength of the community it will continue to serve.

For the past 20 years Catherine Elvester has called San Diego her home; received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Marketing from CSUN and speaks Portuguese and Spanish. Catherine has a strong Low Vision community here in San Diego with the Braille Institute, and San Diego Center for the Blind. Working with them to help people with Low Vision remain active and independent is what she enjoys.

OUR FUTURE

SoCal Low Vision will always continue its commitment to helping the visually impaired community in and around Southern California, and in aiding them to become independent and to stay independent despite their low vision. We will continue to grow and evolve our products and our services as the needs of the sight-challenged community change, and as new products become available to assist the visually impaired.
